What is the cost of a Panic/Medical Alert System?

 A Panic Alarm is installed at literally no charge, with the equipment simply remaining our property. There is however a monthly 24 hour Monitoring and Armed Response fee associated with same and this rate would vary based on a number of factors. Rest assured however that our rates are the most cost effective in the industry, while our service remains second to none! Maintenance of the Panic Alarm System is included in our monthly charges.

What is the cost of an Intrusion Detection System?

As no two (2) locations are exactly alike, it is impossible to give an exact estimate without conducting a security survey of your location, bearing in mind that each Intrusion Detection System is custom-designed. That said, basic systems start from as low as $15ꯠ.00 plus GCT and would increase based on the number of protective devices used to properly secure same. Remember that a FREE Security Audit/Survey can be carried out at your location after which we can provide you with a detailed quotation.

Suppose I have an Alarm System installed or monitored by another alarm provider, can KingAlarm take over the monitoring of it?

KingAlarm offers Free Switchovers in such instances and can easily and quickly take over the Monitoring of any properly installed alarm system. Since our inception, in excess of 2ꯠ customers who previously utilized other providers now secure themselves the KingAlarm way! It is advisable when undertaking the Monitoring & Response services of any alarm that we did not install, that our trained Technicians conduct a thorough check of all devices to ensure their full functionality, and to ensure that the integrity of the system is not compromised.

What is KingAlarm’s response time like, or how quickly would I expect to see a Response Team after having pressed my panic button?

While we are unable to guarantee a set response time, we do assure you that our Response Teams will make every effort to attend your premises as quickly as is humanly possible. Analysis of our Panic alarm activity over recent months shows an average response time of anywhere between 5-8 minutes in the majority of our zones, although this could vary depending on the circumstances at the time of your alarm. We are proud to say that we have, by far, the most Response Teams within Kingston, St. Andrew and St. Catherine at any given time when compared to any other security provider and have consistently maintained the best Response Team/Client Ratio in the Industry.

How does KingAlarm’s Monitoring Centre know if my Alarm System is communicating with them?

Each Alarm System that we install is programmed to send us an Automatic Test Signal every five (5) hours. This Test Signal ensures that communication is in place between your location and our Monitoring Centre. If such a signal is not received at the scheduled time, our Monitoring software would immediately alert our Operators to this possible break in communication, at which point a Technician would be dispatched, if necessary, to correct the problem.

How do I Test my Security System?

It is a good idea to test your Panic Buttons, Medical Alert buttons or Intrusion Detection devices at least once per month. That said, it is imperative that customers contact our Central Monitoring Centre prior to conducting these tests to ensure that our Armed Response Teams are not dispatched unnecessarily. When calling to advise of tests being carried out, customers must have their security passwords handy thereby allowing our Operators to verify your identity.

Where are your Response Teams located?

KingAlarm has a number of strategically located Response Bases throughout the areas that we protect. This ensures that we are able to provide our customers with faster response times to all alarm signals received. Our bases are presently located in Cross Roads, Downtown Kingston, Half-Way-Tree, Liguanea, Red Hills, Manor Park, Stony Hill, Spanish Town and Portmore.

As a client, how often should I expect the Response Teams to visit my premises?

Based on the differing preferences of our clients, we have shifted our focus from “door to door” visits to focusing on patrolling the areas that we protect in an effort to deter criminal activities. In and around this, our Teams continue to make random stops at our client’s premises (which may be few or frequent). Please bear in mind that the priority of our Response Teams is to respond to distress calls and to seek to protect life and property. (It should be noted that routine visits should not be thought of as substitute for an Intrusion Detection System – i.e. to protect against a possible break-in – but should moreso be viewed as a possible deterrent).

How do I pay my KingAlarm bill?

With your convenience in mind, we have put in a number of easy payment options. These include Bill Express, Paymaster, TeleMidas, NCB E Link, Jamaica National E-Banking, BNS Internet Banking, Quik & EZ and Credit Cards or Debit Cards. Additionally customers can pay by cash or cheques – both of which our company bearers would happily collect.

In paying my invoices for Monitoring & Response services, I know I need my KingAlarm Account I.D. Number. How do I get same?

Your 8 digit account number would be listed clearly on our invoices, below the actual Invoice number. When paying invoices at Bill Express or Paymaster, or when utilizing TeleScotia or TeleMidas, you will be required to have this number handy.

How often would I expect to receive an invoice for Monitoring & Armed Response services?

While other companies tend to bill for such services quarterly, and in advance, we bill clients on a monthly basis with invoices for a particular month becoming due on the 26 th day of that particular month.

Does KingAlarm offer special group rates or rates for Senior Citizens?

We do in fact offer special discounts off our already competitive rates. This would be dependent on a number of factors and is best discussed with a member of our Team.

Are Payment Plans in place for Prospective clients?

KingAlarm is situated at 1 Caledonia Avenue, Kingston 5. We are at the bottom of Tom Redcam Avenue, just across from the Jamaica Defence Force Headquarters.
